The best cold plunge chillers with ozone, and the number none of them gives

five chillers whose own listings state an ozone module, ranked on the specs they publish: cooling capacity, gallon ceiling, temperature floor. The ozone output itself - the one figure that would make the claim comparable - is published by none of them.

The verdict

The Healcryo 1.5 HP Pro MAXis the pick, and it is for a big tub: it is the largest compressor here and the only unit that puts an ozone module, 3-stage 20-micron filtration, a 12,000 BTU/h capacity, a noise band and an ingress rating on one listing. If you want the ozone module itemised rather than implied, the FEFLO 1 HPis the only chiller on this page that publishes a figure for it at all — a 5 W draw for the generator. The TURBRO 1 HP is the pick if a stated BTU number is what you are shopping on. The budget pick is the Healcryo 1.0 HP Pro Cool: the cheapest ozone chiller we track and still a documented one, with 8,000 BTU/h, a 120-gallon ceiling, a 37.4 °F floor and 20-micron filtration named on the listing. The price table below applies the “cheapest” label at today’s live price, not ours.

Ozone has quietly become a standard bullet on mid-priced cold plunge chillers, and it is sold the way most features in this category are sold — as a word. Our own product registry has a field for the figure that would make the claim comparable, ozone output in milligrams per hour, and not one chiller in the registry fills it. The standalone ozone generator we track publishes one. The chillers do not. That is the first thing to know before paying a premium for the module.

So this page ranks the chillers that state an ozone module on the numbers they are willing to publish, in this order: compressor size and cooling capacity, because that is what decides whether the unit can hold your tub; the gallon ceiling and temperature floor, because that is what decides whether it can hold your tub; the electrical disclosure, because a chiller you cannot size a circuit for is an unknown install cost; and only then price. Across these five units, three publish a BTU figure, three publish a gallon ceiling and four publish a temperature floor.

The second finding is that ozone and filtration travel together, in every single case. All five of these listings state filtration alongside the ozone module, and several ship cartridges in the box. Read that as the manufacturers telling you what the module is: one stage inside a moving loop, not a replacement for filtering the water or for measuring it. Our water treatment roundup covers the measured half of this, and do you need a filter on a cold plunge is the honest answer to the question underneath it.

And the third is the electrical blank, which is the real risk. Not one of these listings publishes an amperage and one publishes a rated input power, so for four of the five picks you cannot confirm from the listing that the chiller fits the circuit it is going on. The compressor sizes here run from 0.8 HP to 1.5 HP, which is a wide enough range that the assumption is not safe. Cold plunge electrical requirements sets out what to ask.

We have not tested any of these; we own none of them. Here is exactly what we do instead. Every specification below was read from the seller’s own Amazon listing on the date printed on each card.

What an ozone chiller costs today

No price is typed anywhere into this page. Each figure is read from our live price layer when the page is served, and the “cheapest today” label is applied at that moment rather than written in by us. As of November 7, 2026, five of the five picks have a live price. The cost-per-published-BTU column is arithmetic on the listing’s own capacity claim, and it is blank wherever the listing does not make one — which is most of them.

#1Big tubs, documented end to end

Healcryo 1.5 HP Pro MAX Cold Plunge Chiller

The biggest compressor here and the only one that puts a BTU figure, a noise band and an ingress rating on the same listing. Sized for a tub that beat a smaller unit — and the rare chiller in this survey whose published numbers you can actually plan around.

Strengths

  • 1.5 HP and a published 12,000 BTU/h — the largest compressor and the highest stated cooling capacity compared here
  • Published 35-120°F range covers heat as well as cold, with a stated 200-gallon working ceiling
  • Publishes 35-55 dB and an IPX4 outdoor rating — figures the rest of this category leaves blank
  • Self-priming pump, ozone module and a 3-stage 20-micron filter are in the box, not extras

Trade-offs

  • Oversized and overpriced for a standard 100-gallon tub
  • Amperage and rated watts are still not published, so you cannot confirm circuit headroom from the listing
  • No warranty term stated anywhere on the listing
  • The ozone module and app control add failure points a plain chiller does not have

#2The only itemised ozone module

FEFLO 1 HP Hot & Cold Water Chiller with Ozone

The largest published gallon ceiling on this page by a wide margin, and the only listing anywhere in our chiller survey that puts a number on the circulation pump and the fan separately. It is sold as an aquarium chiller that also does plunges, and the spec sheet reads like it.

Strengths

  • Publishes a 260-gallon working ceiling - the largest stated on this page
  • Itemizes an 88 W circulation pump and a 300 W fan, which no other listing in our survey does
  • Publishes a 50-65 dB noise band and a stated 8 A internal fuse - the closest thing to an electrical figure this listing offers
  • Built-in 5 W ozone generator plus external filters, hoses, two filters and a wrench in the box

Trade-offs

  • The listing prints 2,500 W in the title and a 2,800 W cooling capacity in the bullets, identifies neither as input power, and never reconciles them
  • A stated 4-5 hour cooldown for 250 liters names no start temperature and no ambient, so it cannot be checked
  • Sold primarily as an aquarium chiller, so the cold plunge fit is on you
  • Scarce stock on the read date - 11 units

#3Buyers who want a stated BTU

TURBRO 1 HP 9,300 BTU Cold Plunge Chiller

One of only two chillers here that publishes a BTU figure, which is the number that actually predicts pulldown. That transparency, plus dual filters and an ozone generator, is why it leads.

Strengths

  • Publishes 9,300 BTU cooling capacity — only one other listing here states one
  • Dual filters and ozone generator included
  • Insulated pipes, wheels and handles for a garage setup

Trade-offs

  • Most expensive chiller in this comparison
  • Amperage and rated watts are not published

#4Budget pick — cheapest ozone chiller tracked

Healcryo 1.0 HP Pro Cold Plunge Chiller (AC-POD1)

The most complete spec sheet in the heat-and-cool category: a BTU figure, a gallon ceiling, an ingress rating and both ends of the temperature range, all on one listing. It is also the only unit here that states what happens when the ambient air gets hot, which is the condition that actually defeats a chiller.

Strengths

  • Publishes 8,000 BTU/h cooling capacity and a 120-gallon ceiling - both, which almost nothing in this category manages
  • States a 37.4-104°F target range plus separate cooling, heating and automatic modes rather than a bare 'it heats too' claim
  • Publishes an IPX4 rating and says it operates in ambient air up to 113°F - the only heat-tolerance figure on this page
  • Titanium heat exchanger, auto-defrost, ozone module and 20-micron filtration are all named on the listing, not implied
  • A bottom drain port for winter evacuation is specified, which is the detail an outdoor unit lives or dies on

Trade-offs

  • The listing names two different cold floors - 35°F in a headline bullet and 37.4°F in that same bullet's body - and we have taken the lower claim as marketing
  • No amperage and no rated watts, so you cannot confirm circuit headroom from the listing
  • No warranty term stated anywhere on the page
  • The ozone module, app and touchscreen are three more things that can fail than a plain thermostat has

#5Working out the running cost first

Durasage Ice Bath Chiller 0.8 HP Chiller & Heater (DIB-CH8)

The only unit on this page that publishes its own power draw, which is the number that decides what a contrast habit costs to run. It is also the only one here sold under a named model number by a brand with a US consumer line behind it.

Strengths

  • Publishes 725 W - the only rated-power figure on this page, and the one spec that lets you price a month of use
  • A named brand with a model number (DIB-CH8), which matters when a warranty claim needs a part
  • Ozone sanitation and a replaceable filter cartridge are both stated, not implied
  • Hoses and pump are in the box, so the install is not a second shopping trip

Trade-offs

  • The title says 32-104°F and the bullets say 37-107°F; the same listing publishes two different ranges and we have used the bullets
  • 0.8 HP is the smallest compressor on this page, and no gallon ceiling is published to tell you what it suits
  • No BTU figure, no voltage, no amperage, no warranty term
  • The most expensive unit here per horsepower

How to judge an ozone claim on a chiller listing

Ask for an output figure, in mg/h.It is the only number that makes two ozone modules comparable, and nobody in this category publishes it. One listing here states the generator’s 5 W draw, which at least tells you the module is a real component with a real power budget rather than a marketing line. If a seller answers the mg/h question, that answer is worth more than the rest of the bullet list.

Check the micron rating on the filter it ships with. The filter is the part doing the visible work, and across the wider category almost no listing states a micron figure — the two Healcryo units here are the exception at 20 micron. Our filters and pumps roundup found that gap across the whole aftermarket, which is worth knowing before you treat “filtration included” as a specification.

Size the compressor against your tub, not against the feature list. A 1/3 HP chiller with an ozone module still cannot hold a 150-gallon uninsulated tub, and an ozone module does not make a small compressor faster. What size chiller do I need works through the arithmetic, and our main chiller roundup ranks the whole field on horsepower and published capacity.

And decide whether you want the heat mode too. four of these five picks publish one, which makes this page and best chillers with a heater overlap by design. That page ranks the same hardware on the hot direction and on the reheat time none of them states.

Frequently asked questions

What does the ozone module on a cold plunge chiller actually do?

It injects ozone into the water as it passes through the chiller's loop, which is a way of treating the water while the pump is running. The thing to understand from the listings themselves is that every one of these units pairs the ozone module with a filter and ships or recommends filter cartridges - so the manufacturers are not presenting ozone as a substitute for filtration or for chemistry. Treat it as one stage in a loop, not as the reason you can skip water care.

How much ozone do these chillers produce?

Not one of them says. Our product registry has a field for exactly this figure - ozone output in milligrams per hour - because the standalone ozone generator we track publishes one, and every chiller on this page leaves it empty. The closest any of them comes is the FEFLO, which states the ozone generator's electrical draw at 5 W. That is a wattage, not an output, and it is still more than the other four publish. The honest summary: the ozone claim on a chiller listing is currently unquantified across this whole category.

Should I pay more for a chiller with ozone?

Only if the rest of the spec sheet already justifies the unit. On this page the ozone module travels with the better-documented mid-priced chillers rather than causing their price, and the cheapest pick here is one of the best-specified. Our advice is to choose on compressor size and published cooling capacity first - those are the numbers that decide whether the chiller can hold your tub at temperature - and treat the ozone module as a bonus that nobody has quantified.

Does ozone mean I can stop treating the water?

No, and nothing on these listings claims it does. Ozone is injected into a moving loop; it is not a residual sanitiser that sits in the tub between sessions the way a measured chemical dose does. All five picks here still ship with or recommend filtration, which tells you how the manufacturers themselves see it. Our water treatment roundup covers what the measured chemistry side of this looks like, including the test strips that tell you whether it is working.

What do these listings publish, and what do they skip?

Across these five chillers: three publish a cooling capacity in BTU, three publish a gallon ceiling, four publish a temperature floor, two publishes a voltage, one publishes a rated input power, not one publishes an amperage and not one publishes a warranty term. All five state filtration. The gap that matters most for planning is the electrical one: you cannot confirm that a chiller fits the circuit it is going on from four of these listings.

Do all of these heat as well as cool?

four of the five publish a heat mode, which is why this page overlaps our heat-and-cool roundup rather than replacing it. If the hot direction is the reason you are shopping, read that page instead - it ranks the same question on the published maximum temperature and on the reheat time nobody states. If you only ever want cold, the two picks here without a documented heat mode are the ones to compare.

Why don't you score these out of ten?

Because a score implies a measurement and we have measured nothing - we own none of these chillers. Every figure above was read from the seller's own listing on the date printed on each card, every blank is a spec the seller does not publish, and the ranking is an argument you can disagree with rather than a number that hides the reasoning.
